About the siteUpdated

Gambling is entertainment that costs money. It stops being that for some people, and the tools below exist for exactly that moment. In the United States the National Problem Gambling Helpline is 1-800-GAMBLER: free, confidential and open every hour of the year.

Tools you already have in your account

  • Deposit limits per day, week or month. Lowering one usually takes effect at once, raising it comes with a waiting period.
  • Session and loss limits, which stop play when a number you set is reached.
  • Cooling-off, a short break from a few days to several weeks.
  • Self-exclusion at the operator, normally irreversible until it expires.

What a state program covers

In states that license online casinos, the regulator runs a self-exclusion register that covers every licensed operator in that state at once, with terms from one year to life. It does not reach offshore sites, which is the gap most people discover too late. Device-level blocking software and a gambling transaction block at your bank close that gap from the other side.

Signs worth taking seriously

Chasing losses, borrowing to play, hiding the size of a session, playing to change a mood rather than for fun, and money meant for something else going into an account. Any one of them is a reason to use the limits above today rather than next month. Help is free, and the call does not stay on a record anywhere.
